How to check the hidden files with “ls” command?

It is possible that there might be some hidden files on your mac or linux that you might want to check.

This is 1m blog post and we will explain you how you can check these hidden files.

Hidden files are special files and those files are not visible directly. These files do start with “.” (dot).

To check the hidden file through terminal on mac or linux please use following command:

$ ls -a

This will list all the hidden files in the current directory.

To list the hidden files from the specific directory,

$ ls -a <directory-path>
Example
$ ls -a /Users/kuberneteslab/Downloads
